The sheets are off the 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor, finally filling the void left behind by the discontinuation of the off-road-focused Timberline trim after the 2024 model year. Packed with the equipment we expected to be equipped with on the SUV, the Explorer Tremor bridges the gap between comfort on the road and performance beyond the pavement.
Headlining its long list of features is its off-road-tuned suspension, which offers a one-inch lift compared to the rest of the Explorer line, allowing for improved approach and departure angles. Unique springs and sway bars help keep the ride smooth over rugged terrain, while skid plates both up front and in the rear protect the underbody from errant rocks and other obstacles on the trail.
This Explorer rides on a set of 18-inch wheels wrapped in tough all-terrain tires. A Torsen limited-slip differential helps increase traction in slippery conditions, while a set of high-intensity off-road LED lights up front cut the darkness. It’s also fitted with a set of front recovery hooks, which match the rest of the crossover’s electric spice-painted accents.

Buyers have two options when selecting a powerhouse for their 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor between the standard turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost I4, rated for 300 horsepower or the twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6, good for 400 horses.
The cabin features all manner of cutting-edge technology, too. The Ford Digital Experience grants access to features like Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, while Google Maps is built right in for navigation, along with a portfolio of apps supported by Google Play. Ford CoPilot Assist 2.0 is standard fare, while BlueCruise 1.5 offers hands-free driving in appropriate conditions, complete with Automatic Lane Change. Meanwhile, creature comforts like massaging front seats and the 14-speaker B&O sound system are on the options list.
Order books for the 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor are open as of June 24th, 2025, while deliveries are expected to begin in late 2025.
